The Heart Behind Little Chef

I’m Iris Soles — a bilingual elementary school teacher, devoted dog mom, and the founder of Little Chef.

My journey began with Katy, my beloved Chihuahua, who has been by my side since she was just two months old.

Katy’s early years were filled with challenges: persistent skin issues, hair loss, and later, two battles with cancer. The treatments were exhausting, the vet bills overwhelming, but nothing compared to watching her lose her spark.

In the midst of her second fight, I learned I was pregnant. My greatest wish was for Katy to meet my baby, so I made her a promise: I would do everything possible to give her a second chance.

I began researching every ingredient in her food, and with the guidance of veterinarians and pet nutritionists, I switched to cooking for her at home. Fresh, whole, human-grade ingredients. No fillers, no artificial additives — just real food made with love.

Slowly, Katy’s energy returned, her coat grew back, and her joy shone through again.

Today, at 13 years old, Katy is thriving — playful, healthy, and sharing life with her little sister, Leia.

Her recovery inspired me to create Little Chef, so other pet parents could give their dogs the same gift: more time, more memories, more tail wags.

This isn’t just food — it’s a promise, a second chance, and a bowl full of love.
